Happy July and August! Now is the time to dive into summer fun in Lakeway! Celebrate Independence Day on July 4th at the City of Lakeway's classic parade and festivities. Kick off your Sunday shoes at Magnolia Musical Theatre’s free production of Footloose: The Musical. Feeling artistic? Capture those summer memories for the Lakeway Photo Festival which accepts entries from July 15th to August 31st. Feeling aquatic? Make a splash and meet a mermaid at the Under the Sea Pool Party on July 20th, followed by some underwater thrills at the Shark Pool Party on July 27th. Music lovers won't want to miss the Arts in the Afternoon concert featuring The Austin Brassworks on July 28th. August heats up with the electrifying TexARTS cabaret production of Motown: 65 Years of Heart and Soul! running from August 9th-25th. Aspiring photographers can connect with fellow enthusiasts at the Lakeway Photography Club Summer Meeting on August 21st. And to wrap up the summer in artistic style, explore the Cool Arts Show and Studio Tour on August 24th-25th. There's something for everyone in Lakeway this summer! See you out there!
Spotlight: The 2024 Lakeway Photo Festival
Do you have an eye for capturing the beauty of Lakeway? The 22nd annual Lakeway Photo Festival is calling all amateur and professional photographers to showcase their talents! Submit your stunning photos taken within the Lakeway city limits, and compete for recognition and a chance to showcased in the City Hall Art Gallery. The festival is free to enter for LTISD residents and opens on July 15th. With diverse categories to choose from, there's a perfect fit for every photographer's unique perspective. So, dust off your camera, capture the essence of our vibrant community, and be a part of this exciting annual artistic celebration! Enter by August 31, 2024 at 5pm.

If you are an artist working or living in the Lakeway, Bee Cave, Spicewood, Lake Travis or western Travis County areas, we invite you to add your creative talents to the Lakeway Artist Directory. There is no cost to join the dozens of local artists already included in the directory. It only takes a few minutes to submit your directory info online. Local Lakeway artists are also encouraged to apply to exhibit their art at Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery.
